καὶ μὴν οὐδὲ αἱ αἰσθήσεις. αὗται γὰρ πάσχουσι μόνον καὶ κηροῦ τρόπον τυποῦνται, ἄλλο δ’ ἴσασιν οὐδὲ ἕν, ἐπεί τοι ἐὰν ζήτησίν τινος αὐταῖς νείμωμεν, οὐκέτ’ ἄλογοι γενήσονται ἀλλὰ λογικαὶ δυνάμεις ἔχουσαι φύσιν ζητήσεως. ὅπερ οὐχ οὕτως εἰχεν· εἰ γάρ τὸ λευκαίνεσθαι καὶ μελαίνεσθαι καὶ γλυκάζεσθαι καὶ πικράζεσθαι καὶ εὐωδιάζεσθαι <καὶ> πάσχειν ἴδιόν ἐστιν αὐτῶν, τὸ ζητεῖν ἐνεργητικῶς οὐκ ἔσται ἴδιον αὐτῶν.
