ταύτης γὰρ ἀναιρεθείσης συναναιροῦνται καὶ αἱ ἐπ’ εἴδους διαφοραὶ τῶν φαντασιῶν, καὶ ὧς μὴ ὄντος ζῴου οὐδὲ ἄνθρωπος ἔστιν, οὕτω μὴ οὔσης φαντασίας οὐδὲ καταληπτικὴ ἢ πιθανή τις ὑφέστηκε φαντασία. εἰ γὰρ τύπωσίς ἐστιν ἐν ψυχῇ ἡ φαντασία, ἤτοι κατ’ ἐξοχὴν καὶ εἰσοχὴν τύπωσίς ἐστιν, ὧς οἱ περὶ τὸν Κλεάνθην (fr. 484 Arn.) νομίζουσιν, ἢ κατὰ ψιλὴν ἑτεροίωσιν γίνεται, καθάπερ οἱ περὶ τὸν Χρύσιππον (fr. 56 Arn.) ἐδόξασαν.
