οὐκ ἄρα ῥητορικῆς ἐστι τὸ κατασκευάζειν καλὴν λέξιν καὶ τὸ εὖ λέγειν. δοθέντος τε τούτου οὐδʼ ἄν τις ἕλοιτο τὴν τοιαύτην φράσιν, πρῶτον μὲν διὰ τὸ μὴ πίπτειν αὐτὴν εἰς τὴν κοινὴν τοῦ βίου χρῆσιν οὐδεὶς γὰρ ἡμῶν οὕτω διαλέ- γεται ὡς οἱ ῥήτορες ἐπὶ τῶν δικαστηρίων, ἐπεὶ κατα- γελασθήσεται. καὶ αὐτοὶ δὲ ἐκεῖνοι πάντοτε ἐξελθόντες τῆς διατριβῆς καὶ τοῦ ἀγῶνος ἄλλῃ χρῶνται πρὸς τοὺς πέλας ἑρμηνείᾳ.
