(αὐτὴ μὲν γὰρ ἡ ἐμπειρία τριβή τίς ἐστι καὶ ἐργάτις ἄτεχνός τε καὶ ἄλογος, ἐν ψιλῇ παρατηρήσει καὶ συγγυμινασίᾳ κειμένη, ἡ δέ γραμματικὴ τέχνη καθ- έστηκεν), οὐ συνορῶν ὅτι τάττεται μὲν καὶ ἐπὶ τέχνης τοὔνομα, καθὼς ἐν τοῖς ἐμπειρικοῖς ὑπομνήμασιν (op. deperd.) ἐδιδάξαμεν, ἀδιαφόρως τοῦ βίου τοὺς αὐτοὺς ἐμπείρους τε καὶ τεχνίτας καλοῦντος, ἀφʼ ἧσπερ ἐννοίας καὶ ὁ Μητρόδωρος (fr. 61 Koerte) ἔφη μηδεμίαν ἄλλην πραγμάτων ἐμπειρίαν τὸ ἑαυτῆς τέλος συνορᾶν ἢ φιλοσο- φίαν,
