οὐ μὴν ἀλλʼ εἴπερ αἱ δύο γραμμαὶ μία γίνονται, δεήσει τὰ παρατιθέμενα ἀλλή- λοις σώματα ἑνὶ ἄκρῳ ἐλάσσω εἶναι· γεγόνασι γὰρ αἱ δύο μία, ἥτις ἓν ἔχειν ὀφείλει πέρας τε καὶ ἄκρον. οὐχὶ δέ γε τὰ παρατιθέμενα ἀλλήλοις σώματα ἑνὶ ἄκρῳ γίνεται ἐλάσ- σονα, ὥστε αἱ δύο γραμμαὶ οὐκ ἂν γένοιντο μία γραμμή.
