ἀλλʼ εἰ μὲν διεστᾶσιν ἀπʼ ἀλλήλων, ἀκολουθήσει μέρος τι εἶναι τῆς ἐπιπέδου τὸ μὴ κυκλο- γραφούμενον, καὶ τῆς εὐθείας μέρος τὸ κατὰ τούτου μὲν φερόμενον τοῦ διαστήματος, μὴ κυκλογραφοῦν δέ. ὅπερ ἐστὶν ἄτοπον. ἢ γὰρ οὐκ ἔχει κατὰ τοῦτο τὸ μέρος ση- μεῖον ἡ εὐθεῖα γραμμή, ἢ ἔχουσα οὐ καταγράφει κύκλον, ὧν ἑκάτερον παρὰ τὸν γεωμετρικόν ἐστι λόγον· καὶ πᾶν γὰρ | μέρος τῆς γραμμῆς σημεῖον ἔχειν φασί, καὶ πᾶν σημεῖον στρεφόμενον κυκλογραφεῖν.
