εἰ γὰρ ὁ μὲν ἐξωτάτω κύκλος καὶ πρὸς αὐτῇ τῇ περιφερείᾳ μεῖζον ἐπέχει διάστημα καὶ ὁ ἐσωτάτω πρὸς τῷ κέντρῳ κύκλος μικρὸν ἐπέχει διάστημα, πάντες δὲ οἱ κύκλοι τὸν αὐτὸν ἐπέχουσι τόπον, ὁ τὸ μεῖζον ἐπέ- χων διάστημα ἴσος γενήσεται τῷ 〈τὸ〉 ἐλάχιστον ἐπέ- χοντι διάστημα· ὅπερ ἐστὶν ἀπεμφαῖνον. οὐ τοίνυν οὕτως εἰσὶ συνεχεῖς οἱ κύκλοι ὡς τὸν αὐτὸν τόπον ἐπέχειν.
