ὁ μὲν γὰρ Διονύσιος κατά τι διώρισε τὸν τῆς γραμ- ματικῆς ὅρον, ἐπὶ μόνων αὐτὴν ποιητῶν τε καὶ συγγρα- φέων στήσας· οὗτος δέ περὶ πᾶσαν Ἑλληνικὴν φωνὴν καὶ περὶ πᾶν σημαινόμενον καταγίγνεσθαι ταύτην θέλει. ὅπερ, εἰ θεμιτὸν εἰπεῖν, οὐδὲ θεοῖς ἀνυτόν ἐστιν. ὡς γὰρ καὶ πρό- τερον ἐλέγομιεν (PH II 78.89),οὐδεμία μέθοδος συνίσταται περί τι ἄπειρον, ἀλλὰ καὶ μάλιστα αὕτη τοῦτο περατοῖ·
