ἀμήχανον γὰρ πάντας μακρῷ διαφέροντας ἀλλήλων ἐν τῇ κάλπιδι τοῦ ὑδροχόου γεγεννῆσθαι. καὶ μὴν οὐδέ ἔνεστι λέγειν ὅτι διʼ ἕνα πολλάκις, ᾧ εἵμαρται κατὰ πέλαγος φθαρῆναι, πάν- τες οἱ ἐν τῇ νηὶ συναπόλλυνται διὰ τί γὰρ ἡ τούτου εἱ- μαρμένη τὰς πάντων νικᾷ, ἀλλʼ οὐχὶ διὰ τὸν ἕνα ᾧ εἵμαρται ἐπὶ γῆς θανεῖν πάντες περισῴζονται;
