οὐχ ἀπλᾶ δὲ ἐτύγχανε τὰ οἷον διπλᾶ, καὶ ὅσα δ’ ἐξ ἀξιώματος δὶς λαμβανομένου ἢ ἐξ ἀξιωμάτων διαφερόντων συνέστηκε διὰ συνδέσμου τε ἢ συνδέσμων, οἷον “εἰ ἡμέρα ἔστιν <ἡμέρα ἔστιν>· εἰ ἡμέρα ἔστι, φῶς ἔστιν· εἰ νὺξ ἔστι, σκότος ἔστιν· καὶ εἰ] ἡμέρα ἔστι καὶ φῶς ἔστιν· ἤτοι ἡμέρα ἔστιν ἢ νὺξ ἔστιν”. τῶν δὲ ἁπλῶν τινὰ μὲν ὡρισμένα ἐστὶν τινὰ δὲ ἀόριστα τινὰ δὲ μέσα, ὡρισμένα μὲν τὰ κατὰ δεῖξιν ἐκφερόμενα, οἷον “οὗτος περιπατεῖ, οὗτος κὰθηται” (δείκνυμι γάρ τινα τῶν ἐπὶ μέρους ἀνθρώπων).
