ἀλλ’ ἔστω κατ’ ἁ συγχώρησιν τὰς αἰσθήσεις ἀντιληπτικὰς εἷναι· οὐδὲν γὰρ ἧττον καὶ οὕτως ἄπιστοι εὑρεθήσονται πρὸς τὴν κρίσιν τῶν ἐκτὸς ὑποκειμένων πραγμάτων. αἱ γοῦν αἰσυθήσεις ὑπεναντίως κινοῦνται ὑπὸ τῶν ἐκτό·ς, οἷον ἡ γεῦσις ὑπὸ τοῦ αὐτοῦ μέλιτος ὁτὲ μὲν πικράζεται, ὁτὲ δὲ γλυκάζεται, καὶ ἡ ὅρασις τὸ αὐτὸ χρῶμα ὁτὲ μὲν αἱμωπὸν, ὁτὲ δὲ λευκὸν εἶναι <δοκεῖ> ἀλλ’ οὐδὲ ἡ ὄσφρησις ἑαυτῇ συμφωνεῖ·
