ἐπὶ γὰρ τῶν κατὰ μέρος οὐκ ἂν δύναιτο δείξαί τινα ἄτεχνον μὲν ἔτι, τεχνίτην δὲ ἐσόμενον, ἐὰν ἔν τι θεώρημα προσλάβῃ· οὐ γὰρ δήπου τὴν ἐξαρίθμησιν τῶν θεωρημάτων ἑκάστης τέχνης ἐπίσταταί τις, ὥστε ἀπαρι- θμησάμενος τὰ ἐγνωσμένα θεωρήματα , πόσα λείπεται πρὸς τὸν πλήρη τῶν θεωρημάτων τῆς τέχνης ἀριθμὸν εἰπεῖν ἔχειν. οὐκοῦν ἑνὸς θεωρήματος γνῶσις οὐ ποιεῖ τὸν ἄτεχνον τεχνίτην.
