τῶν δ’ ἐκ συμπλοκῆς τὰ μὲν ἐξ ὁμοιογενῶν ὡς τὰ πλεῖστα, τὰ δ’ ἐξ ἀνομοιογενῶν ὡς ἡμίονοι. πάλιν κοινῇ τῶν ζῴων τὰ μὲν χωοτοκεὶται ὡς ἄνθρωποι, τὰ δ’ ᾠοτοκεῖται ὡς ὄρνιθες, τὰ δὲ σαρκοτοκεῖται ὡς ἄρκτοι. εἰκὸς οὖν τὰς περὶ τὰς γενέσεις ἀνομοιότητας ἀνομοιότητας καὶ διαφορὰς μεγάλας ποιεῖν ἀντιπαθείας, τὸ ἀσύγκρατον καὶ ἀσυνάρμοστον καὶ μαχόμενον ἐκεῖθεν φερομένας.
