Ἧκε, θαυμασιώτατε, παρ’ ἡμᾶς· πεποίηται γὰρ ἡμῖν ἱερὸν τῆς Ἀρτέμιδος μάλα ἀριπρεπές, καὶ περίφυτος ὁ χῶρος καὶ ἀνεῖται ἱερὸς εἶναι. καὶ τὰ ὄντα ἡμᾶς διαβοσκήσει· ὡς γὰρ Σωκράτης ἔλεγεν, εἰ μὴ ἀρκέσει ἡμῖν ταῦτα, ἡμεῖς αὐτοῖς ἀρκέσομεν. ἔγραψα δὲ καὶ Γρύλλῳ τῷ υἱῷ καὶ τῷ ἑταίρῳ, εἴ του δέοιο, παρέχειν σοι. Γρύλλῳ δ’ ἔγραψα, ἐπειδὴ ἀπὸ νέου ἔτι κομιδὴν εἰς αὐτὸν ἐβάλλου καὶ φιλεῖν ἔλεγες. ἔρρωσο.
