(2) ἐγὼ δέ, καθάπερ καὶ σὺ οἶσθα, Πλάτωνα θαυμάσας, δι’ ἐκεῖνον καὶ τὴν πόλιν ὑμῶν καὶ τὴν ἐν ἀκαδημείᾳ διατριβὴν ᾑρούμην, καὶ διέμεινα πάντα τὸν χρόνον ἀνέγκλητον ἐμαυτόν, ἐφ’ ὅσον ἠδυνήθην, πρὸς τὸ ἐκείνου ἦθος διατηρήσας. ἐπεὶ δὲ κατὰ τὰ συμβαίνοντα ἐκεῖνος μὲν ἐχωρίσθη τῆς ἐν ταὐτῷ ἡμῖν συνουσίας, τὰ δὲ νομιζόμενα συνετελέσαμεν καὶ κοινῇ καὶ ἰδίᾳ τιμῶντες ἐκεῖνον, ἐχωριζόμεθα κατὰ τὰς αἱρέσεις, ἃς ἕκαστος ἡμῶν ἐδοκίμαζεν.
