εἰ δοκεῖ, στείχωμεν.
ὦ γενναῖον εἰρηκὼς ἔπος.
ἀντέρειδε νῦν βάσιν σήν.
εἰς ὅσον γʼ ἐγὼ σθένω.
αἰτίαν δὲ πῶς Ἀχαιῶν φεύξομαι;
μὴ φροντίσῃς.
τί γάρ, ἐὰν πορθῶσι χώραν τὴν ἐμήν;
ἐγὼ παρὼν
τίνα προσωφέλησιν ἔρξεις;
βέλεσι τοῖς Ἡρακλέους
πῶς λέγεις;
εἴρξω πελάζειν.
στεῖχε προσκύσας χθόνα.
