Ἀποροῦσι πῶς ὁ ἱκετεύων (Lycaon vitam ab Achille precans) πρὸς τὸν Ἀχιλλέα ἔφη· «Πὰρ γὰρ σοὶ πρώτῳ πασάμην Δημήτερος ἀκτήν.» Τὸ γὰρ λέγειν, καθάπερ Στησίμβροτος, ὅτι οἱ βάρβαροι ἄλφιτα οὐκ ἐσθίουσιν, ἀλλ ̓ ἄρτους κριθίνους, ψεῦδος. Κράτης ἐν β’ Ὁμηρικῶν καὶ Στησίμβροτος οὕτως δέδασται.
