Ὅτι Ἰνδικὴ σχῆμα ἔχει ῥομβοειδές ἧς τὸ μὲν βόρειον πλευρὸν ὁ Καύκασός ἐστὶ τὸ ὄρος ἀπὸ τῆς Ἀρείας ἀρξάμενον ἕως τοῦ ἀνατολικωτάτου πέρατος, ὅπερ ὄρος διορίζει Σάκας τε καὶ Σκύθας καὶ Σῆρας πρὸς βορρᾶν, Ἰνδοὺς δὲ πρὸς νότον· τὸ δὲ δυτικὸν πλευρὸν ὁ Ἰνδός ἐστι ποταμὸς, ῥέων ἐκ τοῦ Καυκάσου πρὸς δυσμὰς χειμερινάς· τὸ δὲ νότιον καὶ ἀνατολικὸν ἡ Ἐρυθρά ἐστι θάλασσα.
