ταῦτα ἐκ τῆς Αἰγύπτου τὰ ὄργια μαθὼν ὁ Ὀδρύσης Ὀρφεὺς εἰς τὴν Ἑλλάδα μετήνεγκε καὶ τὴν τῶν Διονυσίων ἑορτὴν διεσκεύασεν. Εἰ τοίνυν οὐδὲ τὰ δυσαγῆ ταῦτα καὶ βδελυρὰ ὄργια πᾶσίν ἐστι γνώριμα, μόνοι δὲ αὐτὰ ᾔδεσαν οἱ ἱεροφάνται καλούμενοι, μανία σαφὴς τῶν παναγῶν καὶ θείων μυστηρίων πρό γε τῆς πίστεως τὴν γνῶσιν ἐπιζητεῖν.
