τὴν περὶ τῶν παρθένων παραβολὴν εἰπών, καὶ ὡς αἱ μὲν εἰσῆλθον εἰς τὸν νυμφῶνα φέρουσαι τὰς λαμπάδας, αἱ δὲ μωραὶ τῆς παστάδος ἀπεστερήθησαν, ἐπειδήπερ αἱ λαμπάδες ἐσβέσθησαν, προσθεὶς δὲ καὶ τὰ τῶν ταλάντων καὶ τῶν οἰκετῶν τῶν σπουδαίων καὶ τοῦ ἀργοῦ τοῦ τὸ τάλαντον κατακρύψαντος καὶ τῷ ἐξωτάτῳ σκότει παραπεμφθέντος, ἐπήγαγεν· «
