Ἄριστα τοίνυν ὁ θεῖος ἀπόστολος εἴρηκεν· «Τὰ γὰρ ἀόρατα αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ κτίσεως κόσμου τοῖς ποιήμασι νοούμενα καθορᾶται, ἥ τε ἀΐδιος αὐτοῦ δύναμις καὶ θειότης.» Εἶτα πάσης ἀναξίους εἶναι ξυγγνώμης φησὶ τοὺς τὴν μὲν κτίσιν τεθεαμένους, τὸν δὲ ταύτης οὐκ ἀγασθέντας δημιουργόν, ἀλλ' αὐτῇ τὸ θεῖον ἀπονείμαντας σέβας·
