Κἀν τῷ Πολιτικῷ δὲ τοιαῦτα ἔφη· «Τὸ κατὰ ταὐτὰ καὶ ὡσαύτως ἔχειν ἀεὶ καὶ ταὐτὸν εἶναι πάντως τοῖς θειοτάτοις προσήκει μόνοις, σώματος δὲ φύσις οὐ τῆς τοιαύτης τάξεως. Καὶ δὴ ὃν οὐρανὸν καὶ κόσμον ἐπωνομάκαμεν, πολλῶν μὲν καὶ μακαρίων παρὰ τοῦ πεποιηκότος μετείληφεν, ἀτὰρ οὖν δὴ κεκοινώνηκέ γε καὶ σώματος· ὅθεν αὐτῷ μεταβολῆς ἀμοίρῳ γενέσθαι διὰ παντὸς ἀδύνατον.»
