Οὗτος καὶ τὸν Ποσειδῶνα δέδειχε τίσασθαι μὲν βουλόμενον τῶν Κεφαλλήνων τὸν στρατηγόν, ὅτι τυφλὸν εἰργάσατο τὸν Πολύφημον, οὐ δυνάμενον δὲ νικῆσαι τὴν εἱμαρμένην, ἐπειδήπερ εἵμαρτο τῷ Λαέρτου τὴν Ἰθάκην ἰδεῖν. Τούτους τοίνυν καταλιπόντες, τὸν τῶν φιλοσόφων ἑσμὸν παραγάγωμεν.
