Πανταχῇ γὰρ ἔστιν εὑρεῖν τοὺς καλουμένους θεοὺς ἐρῶντας καὶ λυττῶντας καὶ θορνυμένους, καὶ τὸν μὲν πατέρα τῶν θεῶν ἀετῷ καὶ ταύρῳ καὶ κύκνῳ προσεικασμένον καὶ τόνδε τὸν τρόπον ταῖς ἐρωμέναις μιγνύμενον, τὸν δὲ λόγιον Ἑρμῆν τράγον γινόμενον καὶ τὸν τραγοσκελῆ καὶ αἰγόκερων Πάνα παιδοποιοῦντα.
