Ταὐτὸ δὲ τοῦτο καὶ Θεόδοτόν φασι ποιῆσαι τὸν Πυθαγόρειον καὶ Παῦλον τὸν Λακύδου γνώριμον, ὡς ὁ Περγαμηνὸς Τιμόθεος ἐν τῷ Περὶ τῆς τῶν φιλοσόφων ἀνδρείας ξυνέγραψε· ξυμμαρτυρεῖ δὲ τούτῳ καὶ Ἀχαϊκὸς ἐν τοῖς Ἠθικοῖς. Ἀλλ' ὅμως τούτων οὐδεὶς τῆς τῶν μαρτύρων ἠξιώθη τιμῆς·
