μένους τοῖς ἡμετέροις πόνοις παρακαλῶ, ὑπὲρ μὲν τῶν εὖ καὶ καλῶς εἰρημένων τὴν ἄκτιστον ὑμνῆσαι Τριάδα· ἐκείνης γὰρ δῶρον ἡ γνῶσις. Οὕτω καὶ ὁ μακάριος λέγει Δαβίδ· «Ὁ διδάσκων ἄνθρωπον γνῶσιν.» Εἰ δέ τι τῶν προφητικῶν ῥητῶν τὴν ἡμετέραν ὑπερέβη κατάληψιν, συγγνῶναι τῇ τῆς φύσεως ἀσθενείᾳ, καὶ τὸ λεῖπον προσθεῖναι, τὸν δὲ σκοπὸν ἐπαινέσαι, καὶ προσευχὰς ἀντιδοῦναι τοῖς πόνοις. Ὁ δὲ τῶν ἀγαθῶν δοτὴρ, ἡ τῆς σοφίας πηγὴ, δοίη καὶ τῷ συγγεγραφότι, καὶ τοῖς ἐντευξομένοις, σύνεσιν ἐν πᾶσιν, ἵνα ἀπερισπάστως αὐτῷ δουλεύοντες, δοξάσωμεν αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ σώματι καὶ ἐν τῷ πνεύματι ἡμῶν, ὅτι αὐτῷ πρέπει δόξα εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων.
