ὁ δὲ τῶν ἐννέα πρῶτός ἐστι τετράγωνος ἐν περιτ- τοῖς. πρῶτοι γάρ εἰσιν ἀριθμοὶ δυὰς καὶ τριάς, ἡ μὲν ἀρτίων, ἡ δὲ περιττῶν· διὸ καὶ πρώτους τετραγώνους ποιοῦσιν, ὁ μὲν δ΄, ὁ δὲ θ΄.
