Fr. 144 Ἀρίστων ὁ Χῖος καὶ Θεοφράστου τινὰ δόξαν ἱστοῦ ρηκε περὶ τῶν ῥητόρων· ἐρωτηθέντα γὰρ ὁποῖός τις αὐτῷ φαίνεται ῥήτωρ ὁ Δημοσθένης, εἰπεῖν, ἄξιος τῆς πόλεως· ὁποῖος δὲ Δημάδης, ὑπὲρ τὴν πόλιν. (Plut. Demosth. c. 10.)
