Ἡ δὲ ἄμπελος ὕδατος πλείστου δεῖται διὰ τὸ καὶ ἐν τῷ καρπῷ πλεῖστον ἔχειν τὸ ὑγρὸν, ἔτι δὲ μάλιστ' ἀντέχειν δύναται ἐν ταῖς ἐπομβρίαις. Ἐὰν δὲ ἡ χώρα μήτε αὐχμηρὰ μήτε ἔπομβρος ἀλλὰ μέση τυγχάνῃ τὰ ἀνὰ μέσον φυτεύειν ὅσα μήτε πυκνὰ μήτε μανά. Γένη μὲν οὖν πρὸς ἑκάστην ταῦτα οἰκεῖα διαιρεῖται.
