Ἢ τοῦτο παράλογον ὡς μᾶλλον ἐν τῇ γῇ κατακλειομένη ἡ θερμότης ἐκπέττει τὴν τροφὴν τὴν ἐν τῷ σπέρματι καὶ τελεοῖ τῆς ἐν τῷ ἀέρι, καὶ ταῦτα πεφυκότων ἐν τούτῳ τελεοῦσθαι καὶ ἅμα λαμβανόντων τροφὴν οὐκ ὠμὴν ἀλλὰ προπεπονημένην ὑπὸ τοῦ καυλοῦ καὶ τῶν ῥιζῶν;
