κατὰ λόγον δὲ καὶ τὸ ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ τὸ ἐν ἅπασι τοῖς τοιούτοις τόποις εἶναι χρηστήν. Ἀλλὰ γὰρ ταῦτα μὲν ἴσως ἐπὶ πλέον εἴρηται. Ἡ δ' ἁλμυρὶς εἴθ' ὑπὸ τῶν ῥιζῶν ἕλκεται εἴθ' ὑπὸ τῆς τοῦ ἡλίου θερμότητος ἀναφέρεται κατ' ἀμφοτέρους τοὺς τρόπους οὐκ ἂν ἀκίνητον ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς εἴη περὶ οὗπερ ἦν ὁ ἐξ ἀρχῆς λόγος. Ἀλλὰ περὶ μὲν τούτων ἅλις.
