Καλοῦσι δὲ τὰ μὲν ὀποὺς τὰ δὲ δάκρυα, κοινότερον δὲ ὀπὸς, διαφέρει δὲ ἴσως οὐδέν· ἐπεὶ τό γε κοινότατον ἀνωνύμως λεγόμενον ἡ ὑγρότης ἡ οἰκεία καθ' ἕκαστον πέψιν ἔχουσα. Διὰ δὲ τὸ σωματωδεστέρας εἶναι καὶ γλίσχρας τὰς δ' ὑδατώδεις ἀγλίσχρους τῶν μὲν γίνεται πῆξις, τῶν δ' οὔ. Πρὸς ἐνίας δὲ καὶ παρεμβάλλουσί τι τοῦ πῆξαι καὶ συλλέγειν.
