Τὸ δὲ τριχόφυλλον, ὥσπερ τὸ μάραθον, οὐ ποῶδες ἀλλ’ ἔξωχρον οὐδὲ ἔχον καυλὸν ἀλλ’ ὀρθόν πως ἐν αὑτῷ· φύεται δὲ τοῦτο ἐπὶ τῶν ὀστράκων καὶ τῶν λίθων, οὐχ ὥσπερ θάτερον πρὸς τῇ γῇ· πρόσγεια δ’ ἄμφω, καὶ τὸ μὲν τριχόφυλλον πρὸς αὐτῇ τῇ γῇ, πολλάκις δὲ ὥσπερ ἐπικλύζεται μόνον ὑπὸ τῆς θαλάττης, θάτερον δὲ ἀνωτέρω.
