τὰ μὲν γὰρ οὐχ ἅμα λαμβάνουσι τὰς παρ᾽ ἑτέρων ἀρχὰς οὐδ᾽ ἴσως εἰς τὸν αὐτὸν τόπον οὐδ᾽ ἅμα κυΐσκεται, εἰ μὴ καθάπαξ ἅμα καταλάβοι. τῶν δὲ διὰ τί ἡ βλάστησις οὐχ ἅμα οὐ ῥᾴδιον εἰπεῖν· ἀνάγκη γὰρ διὰ τὸ τὰς ῥίζας μηδ᾽ ἅμα μηδ᾽ ὁμοίως ἔχειν ἢ τοὺς ἀκρεμόνας μὴ δέχεσθαι μηδ᾽ ἐκπέττειν ἐξ ὧν ἡ πρώτη βλάστησις· ταῦτα δὲ διὰ τί καὶ τίνος ἕνεκα γένοιτ᾽ ἂν οὐκ εὔλογον εἰπεῖν.
