τοῦτο δὲ συμβαίνει καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν ζώων ὅσα διαπιαίνεται· ξυμφράττονται γὰρ οἱ πόροι διὰ τὴν πυκνότητα τῆς πιμελῆς ὥστε μὴ διϊέναι εἰς τέλος τὴν πνοήν· οἷς μὲν οὖν μὴ ἔνεστιν ὅλως λιπαρότης καὶ πιότης ἢ αὕτη μὴ πολλὴ μηδὲ σωματώδης τούτοις οὐ γίνεται τοιαύτη πάχυνσις· οἷς δ᾽ ἔνεστι γίνεται κατισχυού- σης τῆς θερμότητος.
