ἀεὶ γὰρ ἡ φύσις ἐξομοιοῦν ἐθέλει τῷ ὑποκειμένῳ τοῦτο καὶ ἐν τοῖς ζώοις καὶ ἐν τοῖς φυτοῖς. ποιεῖται γὰρ καὶ τροφὴ γίνεται πᾶσιν ὅταν κρατηθῇ τὸ λαμβανόμενον. εἰ δὲ δὴ καὶ ἔνια τρέφεται διεφθαρμένοις τισὶν ὥσπερ καὶ τῶν ζώων ὧν καὶ ἡ γένεσις ἐκ τούτων οὐδ᾽ ἂν ἡ τῆς τροφῆς ἱκανὴ πίστις εἴη πρὸς τὸ κατὰ φύσιν οὐδ᾽ ἂν ἡ πρώτη σύστασις ἀλλ᾽ ἑκάστοις μεμερισμέναι κατὰ τὰς μίξεις.
