ἐκ ταύτης δέ πως τῆς αἰτίας καὶ ἐκεῖνο λύεται τὸ ἀπόρημα διὰ τί ποτε ἡ μὲν κοιλία τήκει τὰ νομίσματα τὸ δὲ ὕδωρ ζέον θερμότερον ὂν οὐ τήκει· καὶ γὰρ ὅλως τὸ ὑγρὸν ὥσπερ ἐλέχθη κωλυτικὸν τήξεως, καὶ ἅμα διὰ τὴν μαλακότητα καὶ μεγαλομέρειαν οὐ δύναται τέμνειν οὐδὲ διοίγειν τοὺς πόρους. ἡ δ᾽ ἐν τῇ κοιλίᾳ θερμότης ξηροτέρα καὶ γεωδεστέρα διακρινομένου καὶ ὑπονοστοῦντος ἀεὶ τοῦ ὑγροῦ πρὸς τὴν κύστιν.
