Ὀνοματοποιΐα ἐστὶ μέρος λόγου πεποιημένον κατὰ μίμησιν τῶν ἀποτελουμένων ἤχων, οἷον λίγξε βιός· αὐλῶπις τρυφάλεια χαμαὶ βόμβησε πεσοῦσα· φωνῆς δὲ τὸ τοιοῦτον, οἷον ἡ ὀλολυγὴ καὶ ὁ μυκηθμός, καὶ τοὺς ἐλεεινὰ κατήσθιε τετριγῶτας.
