Εἶθ' ἁλιεὺς ὢν ἄκρος σοφίαν
ἐν παγούροις μὲν θεοῖς ἐχθροῖσι καὶ
ἰχθυδίοις εὕρηκα παντοδαπὰς τέχνας,
γέροντα βούγλωττον δὲ μὴ ταχέως πάνυ
συναρπάσομαι; καλόν γ' ἂν εἴη.
Μὰ τὸν Διόνυσον, ὃν σὺ κάπτεις ἴσον ἴσῳ.
