πόλις δὲ Παιονίας τὸ Σίρμιον, ὃ παραρρέει ποταμὸς ἐπὶ θάτερα Σάος, εἰς τὸν Ἴστρον ἐμβάλλων. παραδραμὼν δὲ καὶ ταύτην καὶ λύσας τὴν τοῦ ποταμοῦ γέφυραν ἐπὶ τὰ πρόσω προῄει, δύναμιν ἐκ τῶν κατὰ Θρᾴκην χωρίων ἀγεῖραι διανοούμενος.
