Καί μοι πολλάκις ἐπῆλθε θαυμάσαι πῶς εἰς τοσοῦτο τῆς Βυζαντίων πόλεως ηὐξημένης ὡς μηδεμίαν ἄλλην εἰς εὐδαιμονίαν ἢ μέγεθος αὐτῇ παραβάλλεσθαι, πρόρρησις ἐκ θεῶν οὐδεμία περὶ τῆς εἰς ἀμείνονα τύχην αὐτῆς ἐπιδόσεως τοῖς πρὸ ἡμῶν ἀνθρώποις ἐδόθη.
