Histri sequuntur Aetolos; quippe bellantes eos nuper adiuverant. Et initia pugnae hosti prospera fuerunt eademque exitii causa. Nam cum Gnaei Manli castra cepissent opimaeque praedae incubarent, epulantes ac ludibundos plerosque, qui aut ubi essent prae poculi nescientes, Appius Pulcher invadit. Sic cum sanguine et spiritu male partam revomuere victoriam. Ipse rex Aepulo equo inpositus, cum subinde crapula et capitis errore lapsaret, captum sese vix et aegre, postquam expergefactus est, didicit.
