Terms

Last updated 1 October 2026.

The service

Interlinea is a free reading companion for Latin and Ancient Greek, run by Aeterna Institute. We may change features, daily limits or the library, or pause the service, at any time.

Who can use it

You must be 13 or older. If the law where you live sets a higher age, you need a parent's permission.

Analyses can be wrong

Word analyses, translations, quizzes and tutor replies are produced by a language model and may contain mistakes. Check anything that matters against a grammar or dictionary, and use Report a mistake when you find one.

Fair use

Don't try to get around the daily limits, overload the service, or use it to process text you have no right to use. We may remove accounts that do.

The texts

The library holds thousands of Latin and Ancient Greek texts, from the graded passages to the wider catalogue of authors and works. Most come from an openly licensed edition, under CC BY-SA 4.0; many Latin texts come from The Latin Library, used with its permission. Each one shows its source and licence, and Text credits lists them all. Library texts and every analysis of them are shared under the same licence, except the Latin Library texts themselves, which stay under the terms of that permission.

Your texts

Texts you paste stay yours. They are private to your account and used only to analyse them for you.

If you think a text here uses your work without permission, tell us through Contact and choose Copyright. Name the text and your claim. We reply and take it down while we check.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may close accounts that break these terms.

No warranty

Interlinea is provided as it is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses from using it.
